Tony Danza: Standards & Stories

For only night only, the iconic Tony Danza and his four-piece band are bringing their hit show to the Missouri Theater. Combining timeless music with wit, charm, storytelling, and a dash of soft shoe and ukulele performances, Danza performs a selection of his favorite standards from the Great American Songbook while interweaving stories about his life and personal connection to the music.

The hit live show has entertained audiences around the country with The New York Times raving “Tony’s a live wire who tap-dances, plays the ukulele, tells stories and radiates irresistible charm...he exudes the kind of charisma that can’t be taught!”

Perhaps best known for his starring roles on two of television’s most cherished and long-running series, Taxi and Who’s The Boss, Tony Danza has also established himself as a song and dance man, and recently received rave reviews for his performance in the Broadway musical comedy, Honeymoon In Vegas, with the New York Times calling his performance “sly genius,” and a “career high”. Among his past successes, Tony has starred on Broadway in the The Producers, A View from the Bridge, and starred in beloved films such as Angels In Outfield, She’s Out of Control, and Hollywood Knights.

This fall, Tony is making his long awaited return to television, starring in The Good Cop, a Netflix original series from creator of Monk. In the series, premiering September 21, Danza plays a street smart, rule breaking, ex NYC cop and father to a straight laced rule following cop, played by Josh Groban.

When comedian, musician and ventriloquist Todd Oliver takes the stage you’ll meet his funny companions, Irving and Lucy. No, these are not your typical dummies, they are his personal pet dogs who function as dummies. These little dogs are making crowds across the country howl for more. When they get behind the microphone they turn everyday K-9 experiences into knockout comedy. After over 35 years as a ventriloquist, Todd’s proven formula for success is a combination of audience participation, personalizing his show for special events and educating the audience.  Todd Oliver’s humor is situational and contemporary, resulting in a clean universal comedy that makes you feel good.  Using comedy and ventriloquism he imparts relevant messages such as using time wisely, turning talents into lifelong skills, respecting others and yourself, keeping a positive attitude and a sense of humor along with making good choices that keep you healthy and safe.
